Production Blog: Props and Makeup

 As the filming day nears, I need to take preparatory actions. The next step is to get the props and makeup  I will film with. These props include fake blood, special effects makeup, a fake gun, a phone, a car, and a few costumes as well. For the fake blood, I will use this for the scene in which I find the dead bodies and when Sophia gets shot. Neither sophia nor I have any sort of fake blood. This meant that I had to take a trip to Ulta Beauty. With my partner alongside, I was successfully able to find some fake blood at Ulta. The next prop that was needed was a fake gun. At first, my partner suggested that I get a realistic looking fake gun. Both she and I agreed upon this. After a while, I realized that this would not be a great idea, and she agreed with me. I thought that someone may see the filming in public, and think that I may actually be causing harm to Sophia. I did not want this to happen. She and I then agreed upon using a gun that was very obviously fake. Sophia first suggested that I use a gun drawn onto paper. This was a decent idea, but I thought that the film could do better. One of me and my partners mutual friends, and one of the actors in the film, let me and sophia know that she had a cardboard cutout of a ray gun, and I thought that this was perfect. I next needed a phone to use. Since sophia and I both have phones, this was an easy one. Next, I needed a car. I have a car that I can utilize for the film, so this one was easy as well. I also have a driver's license so I can drive to these destinations. Finally, I needed costumes, especially for the villain. Sophia and I decided upon casual clothing for my character and hers, but I wanted something more for the villain. It was more difficult to find an outfit for her, however, my villain, Elena, informed me and sophia that she had an old halloween costume that was fitting for the role. this included a long black skirt and a plague doctor mask. This concludes our props.
