Our Pitch
Pitch 1: After being evicted from their home, two college students take up shelter in an abandoned building, where more is going on than they had originally thought
Although the concept is exciting, we would not be interested in doing this pitch. There would be a lot of things you could do with this pitch idea. However, that could also be a negative aspect to it. This pitch has too many criteria to put in a short opening sequence of a movie. It is too busy and doesn’t go straight to the point.
Pitch 2: Two students find missing bodies in abandoned building near their highschool; while trying to solve these murders, they instead end up sucking themselves into it.
We would be interested in making this film because the concept is very flexible. With this idea, we are able to work with the criteria and fit all of our major moments into the first 2 minutes to draw viewers in to watch the rest. We can also do as much or as little, as dramatic or not, as we want. This topic is pretty straight to the point, and we can have the very beginning of the movie be the initial part of this idea, “Two students find missing bodies.” Overall, this topic is much less crowded for this project.
We chose pitch number two as we thought this concept would fit better in an opening sequence.
