Planning Blog: Script

 Scene 1: 

*Sound of footsteps running on the sidewalk* 

She looks back scared 

*Footsteps continue* 

*Breathing intensifies as she pants* 

*Gunshot* 

Reverse/rewind sound 

 

Scene 2: 


*Sound of a school bell ringing* 

Students flood out the doors and begin to chatter 

 

Scene 3: 


*Lighter footsteps on a sidewalk on campus* 

-Aja: Oh my god that class is so boring 

-Sophia: I know right... 

-Aja: Have you finished the homework yet? 

-Sophia: No, Ashley was supposed to send me her half, but she hasn’t been to school in days, Im kinda worried 

-Aja: You know, now that I think of it, I haven’t seen Kayla in days either, that’s strange. 

*Pulls out cellphone* 

-Aja: Hey, look at this. Snapchat maps says that they were both last seen here by the beach on Friday. 

-Sophia: We should go check it out. 

 

Scene 4: 


*Sound of car driving, music playing* 

Car stops, music turns off 

-Aja: Alright, it says that this is where they both were last. 

-Sophia: It seems creepy, I don’t want to go in. 

-Aja: Me too. You know, now that I think about it, when have Ashley and Kayla ever hung out alone? They're not that close of friends. 

-Sophia: Yeah, that’s so weird. 

*Car door opens, and slams shut* 

 

Scene 5: 


*Building door creaks open* 

-Aja: I already don’t love it here 

Proceed to walk around the building, with footstep noises. 

-Sophia: Hey come check this out, there’s a room 

*Footsteps approach* 

*Door creeks again as they enter the room* 

*Thud is heard as Sophia falls back against the wall* 

Aja runs to the bodies lined up on the floor 

-Aja: Ashley? Ashley get up. Ashley? 

Aja looks back at Sophia, mouth covered by her hand 

*Door creeks in background as the killer walks in* 

 

Scene 6: 


Both look at each other and their eyes widen 

-Aja (whispering) - What was that? 

-Sophia (also whispering)- I don’t know

Hello again dearest reader, I am happy to inform you that we have now reached the last film on our watch list for examination, Oracle by Aaron Poole, which we also encountered on the "Short of the Week" website. Camera Angles, Movement, and Shots: In this short film, we saw that there were a good number of camera shots used. Said camera shots included medium close-ups of the primary subject as they went about their daily life, whether that be in bed, in the living room, or traveling up the stairs. Final Editing Blog

My second day of editing was much more difficult than the first. After a tedious review, I decided to switch some of the takes for the shots, to make the clips fit together better. I then spent quite a long time editing the clips precisely from the beginning and end and once again edited the speed of the clips. I also put a lot of focus into choosing the correct transitions between shots. The last part of the editing was the hardest by far. This part was choosing a song. I searched through all of my Spotify playlists and liked artists. I tried many songs, but they did not fit well with the commercial. One artist in particular that I looked deeply into was Calvin Harris. I have listened to his music before and I know that he has very upbeat music, which is typical for commercials with physical activity.  I tried many of his songs, including, "Slide" and "Feel so close". Production Blog: End of Editing

 Greetings! I am so excited to be with you today as I near the end of the production series! To kick off today's editing, the group began discussing the title sequence. The main issue regarding the title sequence was the font. Jordyn browsed the fonts available on the DaVinci Resolve software, but none of them really appealed to the group. I really wanted to have a font that looks like the number on the alarm clock; a sort of techy font to centralize or work in the idea of the clock, but this was not easy to find. Jordyn ended up finding one just like it on an outside website and was able to download it for free, so I was ecstatic. Jordyn also suggested the idea of having the titles fade in and out to represent the character's unsteady memory, which I liked as well. After deciding on these aspects, the group moved on.
