Title Website Research
While Google searching for information on Title Design Research, I came across a site called artofthetitle.com. Art of the Title is an online publication dedicated to title sequence design in film, TV, and beyond. This one stuck out to me because I could tell from the name that this was a website dedicated to Title/Opening Scene designs. After browsing the homepage in the “Title Sequences” and “Designers and Studios” I used the search feature to find films openings in the thriller genre. This site features films from all across the world since 2007. I was able to find over 20 films in the thriller genre. I had to eliminate some of the options, as they were from series and not films. My partner and I then chose the 4 that looked best to us. This particular site made it so easy to do so. They do an amazing job at honoring the creators and innovators who contribute to the film world
While using Google when I was searching for more information on Title Designs, I found another site called watchthetitles.com. Watch the Titles was the world's first internet site devoted solely towards the art of title design. This makes this website's content more authentic and trustworthy for me to use for this project. It has a worldwide readership and is well-liked by film enthusiasts, people in the industry, and students. Also, according to the website, it resulted in several notable spin-off ventures, such as screening programs, exhibits, and offline publications, that is similar to what I am attempting to do with my project. The newly redesigned website includes an expanding library of more than 200 title sequences. This could be very useful in choosing title sequence examples for this portion of the project as it has a very large collection. Moreover, it provides behind-the-scenes material, creating a better look into the people, ideas, and procedures that go into their development. This could really assist me in having a deeper understanding of these sequences and how they go about in making one. It provides an in-depth example of what to do to create an effective and interesting opening sequence.
