Putting it all Together

After wrapping up all of the filming, my group moved to the editing stage. Aspects of this process included aligning clips in the correct sequence as well as adding affects. Another part was ensuring the clips started and ended at the appropriate time. My group mate Ashley and I split the work and each individually edited small aspects separately. Most of the editing was done by Ashley. All of the group agreed that this was best, as Ashley and I are the most technologically talented. Sophia was not included in this process much, but she did a final review of Ashley and I's work to ensure it matched the vision she and I both had. Ashley was able to remove some people standing in the back of some shots, as it was not entirely possible to find an entirely deserted area at the beach. She then perfectly executed the sunset scene, in which the actors are dancing and the shot freezes to capture the moment. After this, she and I both edited the audio features. This includes minimizing background noises and most importantly adding the song to the video. She and I also added some small sound affects such as the 'ding' of a text message received, and the 'whoosh' of a text message being sent, which Sophia requested to be done. Ashley was not with me while editing, but she and I were in communication through text messages and phone calls. She and I agreed that she would send her individual clips to me through email, and I would send her mine as well. Ashley informed me that this would allow the clips to fit together more seamlessly and create a cleaner video. I agreed. This was convenient for me because I could now receive these clips on my computer through email, where I would have better access to more editing platforms. It would also eliminate miscommunications between Ashley and I, and Sophia as well. I mainly used the application iMovie for my work, and so did Ashley.  I was able to use this application on both my cell phone and my laptop. After editing the sound and agreeing on how the video will be transported, Ashley and I called it a day and agreed that the video would not be finished in just one sitting.
