Genre Research: Comedy

 The scenario, language, action, and characters are all exaggerated in the comedy genre. They typically have joyful endings, yet the comedy might be serious. 

Common camera angles in your genre (CAMS): 

  • -Common camera angles used in comedy genres include extreme close-ups, two shots, eye level angles, push in shot, pull out shot, and the comparison shot.  

Common Mis-en-Scene in your genre (CLAMPS): 

  • -The costumes in comedies may be rather different. Although particular colors are not required for the movie to be successful, some comedy films do employ bright colors with a lot of vitality to depict a sense of spontaneity.  

  • -A comedy film’s lighting might also be brighter to represent the atmosphere and tone of the picture; the brighter, the happier. 

  • -The main protagonist, frequently accompanied by 2-4 other characters than are all unique in their own war, such as a fool, someone who cares about everything, and a leader, travels through the main tale together. The villain, who is usually someone who possesses something that belongs to the protagonist or someone who has been assigned to find/kill the protagonist.  

  • -The makeup used in comedies is typically cleaner and more colorful than gritty, darker-colored makeup. This makeup method is also utilized to create the tone of the film, making it appear lighter and more optimistic. 

  • -Props in comedies might vary depending on the tone of the film. The most prevalent type of props, however, are generally wacky or wild-looking in order to add to the “crazy” vibe that may be linked with the picture. 

  • -Comedy films may take place virtually any place, although the most common location for comedy films is in suburban areas, such as high schools and clubs. They are typically situated in cheerful, bright towns or neighborhoods. These locations may also be slightly more rural (or potentially man-made) and have lovely, huge houses.  

Common Editing in your genre: 

  • -To be effective with an audience, comedic cuts must be exceedingly crisp and particular. Snappy editing is also a very important technique, which adds to the comedic feel of the film.

  • -Sound had been crucial to the creation of humor on television, whether through sardonic musical remarks, witty musical references and jokes, well-worn sound-effects, or even laugh tracks.
